Students browsed through hundreds of books and chose their favorites during the Middle School’s first-ever Book Fair, held in Doc Wilson Hall from February 27 through March 1.
Over 550 book titles were displayed at 27 stations and eight tables during the event, according to School Librarian Judy Murphy. The selections included both classic and contemporary books, covered a variety of genres, and catered to a variety of tastes.
Several parents pitched in during the fair to ensure that it went smoothly. The school’s partner in the fair was Main Street Books, an independently owned family book distributor in White Plains, NY.
Over $4,000 worth of books was sold, Ms. Murphy says, adding that the profits will be donated to a cause, such as a literacy project. Middle School students will have a major role in deciding on the recipient, she notes.
