The Masters School welcomes applications for faculty positions all year.

A majority of available teaching and administrative positions become known in February and March of each year.  The most advantageous time to submit applications is in the December – March timeframe. Candidates should send a cover letter and resume to careers@mastersny.org.

» Middle School Humanities Coordinator and 6th Grade English Teacher

The Middle School seeks a Middle School Humanities Coordinator and 6th Grade English Teacher. This role offers the right candidate an opportunity to teach four sections of 6th grade English and to work with a dynamic team of Humanities teachers to develop a 5th through 8th grade curriculum. We seek an accomplished English teacher who is also interested in coordinating an interdisciplinary Humanities team.

» Middle School Drama & Dance Teacher/Choreographer

The Masters School Department of Performing Arts seeks a dynamic Drama and Dance Teacher to teach Middle School students and to direct and choreograph a major musical theater production in both the Middle School and the Upper School. We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic teacher who is eager to collaboratively build our Middle School’s growing performing arts program.

» Middle School Physical Sciences Teacher (Sabbatical Replacement)

The Middle School seeks an Eighth Grade Physical Sciences teacher to serve as a one-year replacement for a teacher who will be on sabbatical during the 2018-2019 school year. This teacher will lead four sections of an introductory level Physical Science class that focuses on force, motion and Newton’s Laws, as well as classification of matter, physical and chemical properties, and physical and chemical changes.

» Upper School History Teacher (.8 FTE)

The Upper School History and Religion Department is seeking a teacher who is passionate about the study of history, enthusiastic about working with high school students and committed to developing their craft as a teacher. Cognizant of our increasingly connected world, the department has developed a set of curricular offerings that build from a two year World History foundation, include various approaches to the teaching of American History and allow students to choose from a range of exciting senior level seminars.

» Middle School Science Teacher - Leave Replacement

The Masters School seeks a leave replacement teacher from March 26 – June 15, 2018. Ideal candidates will be energized by teaching in a student-centered classroom that values deep, experiential learning. We are looking for candidates who have also demonstrated a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, within and outside the classroom.

Administrative/Staff Positions

 

» Security Officer (part-time)

This is a part time position requiring the availability to work all shifts and be on-call. Security Officers perform duties necessary to protect The Masters School property and members of the school community from harm, maintaining order and security within the school grounds.

» Audio Visual Technician

This full time position will be a member of the Technology Department and will assist Helpdesk support services on a daily basis. The A/V Technician will be the primary liaison for the Department in the scheduling of A/V and event requests. Masters is eager to consider application from traditionally underrepresented groups.

» Carpenter/Locksmith

To perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and alteration of The Masters School’s buildings. This includes building items such as furniture, stairs, doors, locksets, closures, walls, windows, and ceilings.

» Head Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Coach

Masters seeks a Head Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Coach for this upcoming Spring season. This is a temporary part time position through May 28, 2018. Requires 20 – 25 hours per week.  The season begins February 26th runs thru May 28, 2018. Practices are Monday thru Friday 3:30 to 5:30 with an occasional Saturday game.

» CITYterm Dean of Residential Life

CITYterm at the Masters School seeks a full time, residential Dean of Residential Life starting August 1, 2018. This is an eleven-month, paid, administrative position that includes housing. This position reports to CITYterm’s Director.
